Valouvaka, Black and White
a decision has been made to let valouvaka come to life. I find myself holding a lot of pictures that belong to street photography and want to make this come alive and be shared. I have been in street photography as the first school where I started creating content and pictures, and if I want to talk about street photography, I will need to talk about how I started photography.
I started loving the art of photography after realizing that I didn’t know how to create a video that would show or transfer an emotion or a message. then I did a big research on how everything works, from lighting to framing, and I came to the conclusion that I have to know how things work. A video is full of frames and pictures that are related to FPS (frames per second), and if I want to see and work on pictures and understand them this way.
I will know how to work and develop the best results that will show and transfer whatever I want. Then I started learning how to do photography, with me as well, I have a big knowledge of each photography and painting, and I always look at things differently and have been able to see and look at things from a lot of angles and frame them from many perspectives.
I found myself at the stage of knowing how things work, and I went forward with what I had at that time. I have tried many types of photography, but I didn’t have the equipment and lighting that would help me try and create something or even practice. at that time, I was thinking about where I could find people, lighting, colors, and more. I found that the streets are full of this, but now and back then, people don’t know what it is or understand it.
Street Photography today is overlooked, and no one gives it its value or does it for love. Today, all we see are trendy things that people like and follow only based on what others say is a trend dancing to music or talking about subjects that will never add value, change something, or belong to something. Also, at that time, street photography didn’t work very well, and we heard a lot of bad news about street photographers and their stories. people don’t look at it as something that represents, showcases, or transfers emotions, or as a way to identify and remember a certain moment.
the community of street photography is really limited and small. I have not participated in any photography walk before, and I don’t want to, but I can see people who are trying to connect and do something for this type of photography and art.
I see this as a school that teaches me a lot. the street showed me a lot back then, and even before, but this time I was capturing to share, and that’s what made it go to an even higher level, making it an experience that will never be forgotten. This marked and shaped me, and I captured a lot to be remembered.
this is where valouvaka came in during these last 3 years to bring and share what I have on my phone instead of putting it only on my hard drive. I decided to share this, and here we are.
